1. Scope

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and your purchase and participation in our language learning services, including:

  • mini-group classes (up to 5 students)

  • individual lessons (1:1) and duo lessons

  • speaking club sessions

  • video courses (e.g., A0–A1)

  • Inburgering B1 preparation (if offered)

By signing up, purchasing, or attending, you agree to these Terms.

2. Services and format

Service details (level, duration, schedule, teachers, format, and what is included) are described on our website, invoices, or written confirmation. Lessons are typically delivered online (e.g., Zoom).

We may update the program structure and materials to improve learning outcomes, while keeping the overall service consistent with what you purchased.

3. Pricing and VAT

  • Prices displayed on the website are exclusive of VAT (21%), unless stated otherwise.

  • VAT may apply depending on your location and the nature of the service.

  • Any discounts (e.g., 10% for full-course payment) apply only if explicitly stated in the offer/invoice.

4. Payments

Payments must be made in advance according to the selected plan (monthly, package, or full-course). Access to lessons/courses may be paused until payment is received.

You are responsible for any bank fees or currency conversion costs charged by your bank/payment provider.

5. Trial lessons

For individual lessons, the first session may be offered as a paid trial lesson. A trial lesson does not guarantee ongoing scheduling until a package or plan is purchased and confirmed.

6. Packages, validity, and usage window

If you purchase a package of lessons (e.g., 4/8/12/16):

  • packages are typically valid for 12 months from purchase date unless stated otherwise

  • unused lessons may be eligible for a freeze under Section 8

7. Rescheduling and cancellation (24-hour policy)

  • Lessons can be rescheduled or cancelled with at least 24 hours’ notice before the scheduled start time.

  • Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) or no-shows are treated as completed lessons and may be charged or deducted from your package, except in exceptional circumstances at our reasonable discretion.

8. Freezing lessons

If your plans change, you may request a freeze of remaining lessons. Unless stated otherwise in your plan:

  • you may resume the remaining lessons within 12 months

  • the freeze conditions (duration/number of freezes) may vary by format and will be confirmed in writing

9. Group classes

  • Group schedules are fixed and the roster is stable to support consistent progress.

  • If you miss a group class, make-up lessons are not guaranteed unless explicitly included in your plan. Where possible, we may provide materials or guidance to help you catch up.

10. Speaking club

Speaking club sessions focus on live conversation practice. The specific teacher, group size, and schedule may vary and are confirmed in advance.

11. Video courses and digital content

If you purchase a video course:

  • access rules (immediate/permanent or time-limited) are as described on the purchase page or invoice

  • digital content is for your personal use only and must not be shared, copied, redistributed, or resold

12. Intellectual property

All course materials, videos, exercises, methodology, and website content are owned by Linguini Academy or licensed to us. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use them for learning purposes only.

13. Code of conduct

You agree to behave respectfully toward teachers, staff, and other students. Harassment, discrimination, threats, and disruptive behavior are not allowed. We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated violations.

14. No guarantee of results

We provide structured teaching and support, but learning outcomes depend on attendance, participation, and independent practice. We do not guarantee a specific exam result or level attainment within a fixed time.

15. Refunds

Refund rules depend on the service type:

  • Before service start: refunds may be available, minus payment processing fees and any non-recoverable costs.

  • Lesson packages: partial refunds for unused lessons may be considered on a case-by-case basis, unless your plan states otherwise.

  • Digital products (video courses): refunds may be limited once access is granted, to the extent allowed by applicable law.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages (e.g., lost profits)

  • our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant service in the last 3 months, unless mandatory law requires otherwise

We are not responsible for service disruption caused by third-party systems (e.g., Zoom outages, payment provider issues, internet failures), though we will make reasonable efforts to resolve issues fairly.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Netherlands / your jurisdiction]. Courts of [City, Country] shall have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
